Born on 21 May 1982 in Hisar, Haryana, Shri Manish Joshi is a postgraduate in Theatre from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), Srinagar, Uttarakhand. He further obtained a diploma in performing arts from Himachal Cultural Research Forum and Theatre Academy, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. He has written around fifteen plays, several of which have been staged successfully. He has been associated with various theatre companies such as Idream Theatre, Kaleidoscope, Circle Theatre Company, Garage Theatre, and Kingdom of Dreams. Trained in puppetry under Shri Puran Bhat, he has directed puppetry programmes for Doordarshan, Hisar. A recipient of the Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, he has been associated with various schools and children’s programmes as theatre and puppetry consultant. Having carved out a niche for himself as an actor, director, playwright, puppeteer and a magician, Manish Joshi is associated with his theatre group Abhinay Rangmanch, Hisar which presents plays, organizes workshops and theatre festivals. Several institutions such as the district administration of Hissar, the Multi Art Cultural Centre, Kurukshetra, and many others have recognized his talent. Shri Manish Joshi is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2016 for his notable talent in the field of playwriting.
