Born on 15 October 1981 in Balunkeshwar, Jagatsinghpur, Odisha,
Shrimati Laxmipriya Dash was impressed by the performance of
a traditional Pala artist, Late Arjun Charan Dash, who sang at her
village in 1993, when she was in high school. She began training in
Pala in 1996 under the tutelage of Shri Sankar Charan Dash.
Thereafter, she trained under Shri Jagannath Behera, and Shri
Shrimati Laxmipriya Dash has performed Pala at many venues across Odisha as well as West Bengal and Jharkhand. She has also performed on All India Radio, Cuttack and the Prarthana TV Channel. She has received many titles in appreciation of her performances, including Gayeeki Ratna, Gayeeki Siromani 2012, Gayeeki Banishree 2012, Kala Prativa Samman 2013, and Gayeeki Mandakini 2013, to name a few.
Shrimati Laxmipriya Dash has received many awards including Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy Samman 2006; Prafulla Pathagara, Jagatsinghpur Samman 2005; Zilla Mahotsav Samman, Jagatinghpur 2005; and All Odisha Pala Gayak Parishad Samman.
Shrimati Laxmipriya Dash is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for her notable talent in the field of Folk Music of Odisha.
