Juhi Babbar



Sushree Juhi Raj Babbar was born on 20 July 1976 in New Delhi. She inherited the art of theatre from her parents Smt. Nadira Zaheer Babbar and Shri Raj Babbar. She received a diploma from National Institute of Fashion Technology and received further training from costume designer Bhanu Athaiya for three years. She also received training in Kathak under Uma Dogra and learnt Classical Vocal from Shri Dayal Thakur.
She has been an active member of Ekjute Theatre Group for more than 12 years and has designed costumes for Indian, Shakespearean, folk and contemporary plays. She has also designed posters and brochures for several plays and acted in plays like Begum Jaan, Ji Jaisi Aapki Marzi, Yahudi Ki Ladki, Pencil Sey Brush Tak, Dream Catcher, Jasma Odhan, Itihas Tumhein Le Gaya Kanhaiya and also in tele-serials and films.
Sushree Juhi Babbar has judged various fashion and design shows and has been on jury of various design colleges and institutions. She has also directed, adapted and written some of the plays.
Sushree Juhi Raj Babbar is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2009 for her notable talent in the field of costume designing.
