Menaka P.P. Bora

Sushree Menaka Prafulla Prasad Bora was born on 9 October 1979 in Guwahati. She was initiated into the art by her mother Smt. Indira P.P. Bora.
She further received training in Satrriya dance from Guru Bhuban Bora and Late Dr. Pradeep Chaliha. She has also learnt Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra under the Dhananjayans and Shri Adyar K. Lakshman and received specialized training in Kuchipudi under Guru Vempati Chinna Satyam. She also obtained diploma in Hindustani Vocal Music from Bhatkhande College of Music. She is doing Ph.D. in Culture and Communication at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
She has performed extensively including Nritya Parva Festival, Khajuraho Festival, Natyanjali, Swarn Utsav of Sangeet Natak Akademi, and the programmes organized by various prestigious organizations like NCPA, Darpana Academy, Kalakshetra Foundation, Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, and Bharata Kalanjali. She also got opportunity to present her art in UK, USA and Australia.
Sushree Menaka has been rewarded for her talent with Best Artist Award by Art India, Honorary Award in Classical dance from Indian Embassy, Washington.
Sushree Menaka Prafulla Prasad Bora is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2009 for her notable talent in the field of Sattriya dance.
