Mysore A. Chandan Kumar

Shri Mysore A. Chandan Kumar was born on 26 November 1977 at Mandya, Karnataka. Great grandson of the legendary Vidwan T. Chowdaiah, he received his training in music from Shri M. Gopalakrishna and further received advanced training under the tutelage of Shri P.S. Narayanaswamy. He completed the Masters of Commerce from the University of Mysore.
A-grade artist of A.I.R. and Doordarshan, Shri A. Chandan performed in many major Sabhas including the Darbar South Asian Music festival and in the festival of Sounds of India. He also got opportunity to present his art abroad. He has many recordings to his credit.
He has received many medals and awards including the Yuva Kala Bharathi award by Bharat Kalachar, Chennai; the Ananaya Yuva Puraskar from Ananya, Bangalore; Prof. Mahalingam Padmanabhan award by Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai.
Shri Mysore A. Chandan is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2009 for his notable talent in the field of Carnatic Instrumental Music.
