Murad Ali

Shri Murad Ali was born on 14 May 1976 at New Delhi. He inherited the art of Sarangi playing as a family tradition and was initiated into the art by his father Shri Ghulam Sabir Khan. He further received advanced training from Shri Siddique Ahmed Khan. He obtained senior diploma in Sarangi from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.
Shri Murad Ali made a mark as a young talent early in life and performed in the prestigious festivals organized by various organizations including ‘Virasat’ Series of SPIC-MACAY, Delhi; Malhar Mahotsav; Kalashetra, Chennai; Aarohi Festival organized by Pancham Nishad, Mumbai; SAPTAK Festival, Ahmedabad; and Saurang Parampara Festival, New Delhi. A graded artist of AIR and Doordarshan, he also got opportunity to present his art in Sweden with Spanish and Swedish musicians; World Music Festival, Amsterdam; Kala Utsavam, Singapore and Asian Music Circuit in London.
Shri Murad Ali has been duly rewarded for his talent with Gold Medal in Music Competition organized by All India Radio in 1992, the Sarangi Ratna award from Ustad Ashiq Ali Khan Music Society in 2010.
Shri Murad Ali is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2009 for his notable talent in the field of Hindustani Instrumental Music.
