Shrimati Ahongshangbam Priyarani Devi was born
on 2 March 1984 in Manipur. She completed her
Diploma in Manipuri dance and Nata-Sankirtana
from JNMDA, Imphal. She has performed in various
festivals organized at the national level, including
Ukai Kappa organized by Laihui Ensemble, Imphal;
Loi Kaba; Lei Langba; Urarol; Lirelshei; Yaifabi the
Blessed; Octave 2007; and the Desh Parva of
Sangeet Natak Akademi organized during the XIXth
Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. She has also
performed in various festivals organized abroad,
including at the fourth Surin International Folklore
Festival, Thailand, and the International Theatre
Festival at Dhaka.
She received a national scholarship in the field of traditional music of Manipur in 2005, and also received the Manipur State Kala Akademi scholarship in the field of Manipuri Traditional Song in 2009.
Shrimati Ahongshangbam Priyarani Devi is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2010 for her talent in the field of Folk Music of Manipur.
