Born in 1972, Shri N. Srikanth trained in dance under Shri
Shanmuga Sundaram Pillai and Shrimati Padma
Subrahmanyam. He is a graduate in Botany, and has got an
M.A. in Public Administration. Srikanth has been
performing regularly at the Melattur Bhagavatha Mela
Festival for more than three decades.
He has performed widely in several festivals such as the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Boston, U.S.A.; Dweep Festival, Andaman; Asian Festival, Washington DC, U.S.A.; Konark Festival, Konark; Sangeet Natak Akademi festivals at Trivandrum, and Mumbai, etc. He has received the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram Award, and the Talent Promotion Award, Chennai; Shanmuga Sundaram Pillai Memorial Award; and the Mudralaya Award for Nattuvangam.
Srikanth has travelled to the U.S.A., U.A.E., Canada, France, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Egypt, Reunion Islands, and Mauritius.
Shri N. Srikanth is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2010 for his talent in the field of major traditions of theatre – Bhagavatha Mela of Tamil Nadu.
