Meeta Mishra

Born on 9 September 1973 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Shrimati Meeta Mishra received her initial training in theatre from the Ninasam Theatre Institute, Heggodu, Karnataka. A graduate in Science, she obtained her diploma in Design and Direction from the National School of Drama, New Delhi (2002-2005).
Meeta Mishra has directed plays such as Andha Yug, Sarju Paar ki Monalisa, Matrika, and Tartuffe in Hindi; Tales of Mellissa, Three Panchatantra in English; and To Sir with Love, and Drushti in Kannada. She has directed many plays and has worked with eminent theatre personalities such as B.V. Karanth, V. Ramamurthy, and others. Apart from directing the plays, she has worked as festival consultant, coordinator, and assistant director in different festivals, and has conducted theatre workshops in different aspects of design such as lighting, sets, costumes and make-up. She has translated many a script from Hindi and Kannada. She has also written a play Intezaar Abhi Aur.
A member of the Dramatic Art and Design Association, New Delhi, she is the recipient of a Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Shrimati Meeta Mishra is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2010 for her talent in the field of theatre as a Director.
