I present to you, Sir, Shri Ayodhya Prasad. One of the leading players on the Pakhawaj, Shri Ayodhya Prasad was born in 1891 at Datia in Madhya Pradesh. He belongs to the famous gharana of Kudau Singh, the great pakhawaj player. From the early age of five he was trained in the pakhawaj by his father, Shri Gaya Prasad. Shri Ayodhya Prasad is well known for his repertoire of rare talas and traditional style of playing the instrument. He has been honoured by various societies and royal houses. He is now a Court Musician of Rampur. He is also running a school of music at Rampur. For his eminence in the field of music, Shri Ayodhya Prasad receives the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Hindustani Instrumental Music.
