M. Kirupanandawari

I present to you Sir, Shri Mallayadas Kirupanandawari. Shri Mallayadas Kirupanandawari was bom in 1906 in Kangeyaneliore.He received his initial training in music from his father, Shri Mallayadasar Bhagavathar. Subsequently, he also learnt Thiruppugazh and to play the Veena. A widely read scholar of Tamil and Sanskrit, Shri Kirupanandawari has written numerous books including a critique on Thiruppugazh.
With a performing career spanning several decades, he has developed an individual style of rendering Kathakalakshepam and continues to draw and captivate vast audiences to his musical discourses even today. Deeply religious, he is known for his philanthropic disposition and has liberally contributed to various charities including, among others, the maintenance of an orphanage with over three hundred inmates.
For his outstanding achievements he has been honoured by Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam and the Tamil Isai Sangam besides several other organisations.
For his eminence in the field of Music and his contribution to its enrichment, Shri Mallayadas Kirupanandawari has been elected Fellow of the Sangeet Natak Akademi
