Ashwin Anand



Born on 12 August 1980 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Shri Ashwin Anand received his initial training in music from Shri H.V. Krishnamurthy and later groomed his art under the tutelage of Shrimati R. Vedavalli, eminent guru. A graded artist of All India Radio and a recipient of the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) Scholarship, and the Scholarship from the Department of Culture, Government of India, Shri Ashwin Anand has performed in many prestigious music festivals across the world. He has been honoured with many awards and titles including the Sub-Senior Veena Award from Madras Music Academy, Chennai; the Gottuvadyam Narayanaswamy Iyengar Endowment Award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai; the Ananya Yuva Puraskar and Ananya Prathibha Award from Ananya Cultural Academy; and the Raga Laya Prabha Award from Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira. Shri Ashwin Anand is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2016 for his notable talent in the field of Carnatic instrumental music.
