Navid Inamdar



Shri Navid Inamdar was born on 5 April 1975 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He obtained Masters Degree in Theatre Arts with Gold medal and distinction from Babasaheb Marathwada University, Aurangabad. He also holds Masters degree in Hindi . A former Technical Superintendent in Academy of Theatre Arts, Mumbai University (2006-2009), he has also been a Chief Manager of P.L. Deshpande Maharastra Kala Academy under the Government of Maharastra (2009-2011).
Shri Inamdar has been actively involved in various aspects of theatre such as set and lighting design, acting, directing, writing, organizing festivals and ambience design etc. He has designed sets for many plays including Vedpashya, Mohandas, Gazab Teri Ada, Ashi Pakhare Yeti, Aurangzeb ki Aakhri Raat, Good Doctor, Baby and Wada chirebardi among others. He has designed lighting for the plays Baki Itihas, Insha-Allah and Ma-As-Saabrin. Shri Inamdar has also written some oneact plays including Prashan Chinh, Khurchiwad Zindabad, Zadap and Green Valley among others. As a director, he has helmed many plays including Arvind More's Ulzan, Safdar Hashmi's Raja ka Baja, R. Chava's Tolak and Manohar Katdare's Ghetala Shingavar among others. He has acted in over 30 plays including Zulwa, Madhyam Vyavog, Gandhi Jayanti, Bhagwatajjukam and Ekach Pyala to name a few. He has worked as a festival director and event designer for a number of festivals including Rajya Natya Puraskar organized by Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Maharahstra Government, P.L. Mahotsav, Aadirang Mahotsav, Mumbai, organised by the National School of Drama, Bharat Mahotsav organized by Rangpeeth Theatre, Mumbai.
Shri Navid Inamdar is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2015 for his notable talent in the field of Scenic Designing.
