Shrimati Deep Mandeep was born on 9 October 1978 in Hoshiarpur,
Punjab. She learnt the nuances of acting from Dr. Sahib Singh. She has also
received training in folk dance and vocal music.
Shrimati Deep Mandeep has been an active theatre artist for the last 18 years. She started her acting career in Chandigarh with directors such as Shri Sahib Singh and Shri Gursharan Singh. Later, she worked with prominent directors such as Shri Kewal Dhaliwal, Smt. Neeta Mahindra and others. Some of the major plays she has worked in as an actor include A Doll's House, Lal Batti, Paedaan, Partapi, Baba Bantu, Gaddi Chandan di Kahl Badi Si to name a few. Her directorial debut Panj Ishq was also showcased in Rang Pratibha, festival in Punjab organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. She has also directed many plays including Khande di dhaar, E Zindagi and Choti Sardarni among others. She has also performed in many Indo-Park Friendship theatre festivals in Lahore, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur and Kerala.
For her contribution in the field of theatre, she has been conferred the Best Actress Award in many theatre Festivals such as Sambhang, Chandigarh, in the years 1994, 1995 and 1996, at Vidyak Mukable organized by Punjab School Education Board during the year 1994, 1995, 1996, also by the Punjab Academy, Delhi for the year 2000.
Shrimati Deep Mandeep is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2015 for her notable talent in the field of theatre acting.
