Shrimati Seujpriya Borthakur was born on 13 October 1988. She received
her training in Sattriya Dance under Shri Jatin Goswami and obtained her
Visharad from the Asom Satra Mahasabha Parikshya Parishad. She has also
studied Deodhani dance under Shri Lalit Chandra Nath Ojha. Subsequently,
she studied Bharatanatyam and completed her Visharad from Bhatkhande,
Lucknow. Smt. Seuj Priya Borthakur is a recipient of the Sangeet Natak
Akademi scholarship for her training in Sattriya Dance under the project of
Support to Sattriya dance, music and theatre.
She has given Sattriya performances in many prestigious events such as Nritya Pratibha, Purvranga, Nritya Parv, Octave festival and Natya Santiti of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Uday Shankar Dance festival, Natyanjali festival, Horizon series of ICCR and Konark Dance festival. She has also conducted lecture-demonstrations at several prestigious institutions such as Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal, Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati and CCRT training Camps. An established stage actor, she has also performed in several theatre productions. Smt. Seuj Priya Borthakur has conducted workshops on traditional Ankia Bhaona for the students of National School of Drama and choreographed many productions, including Usha Parinaya and Sita Swayamvar.
She has received many honours and awards, including the Best Choreographer at the Mahindra Excellence Awards for the play Dhou.
Shrimati Seujpriya Borthakur is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2015 for her notable talent in the field of Sattriya dance.
