Ananta Hegde



Born on 30 June 1976 in Dantalige village, Karnataka, Shri Anant Hegde completed his PUC and went to Shreemaya Yakshagana Ranga Shikhshana Kendra, where he underwent intensive training. He was trained by Shri Shambhu Hedge Keremane, Vidvan Ganapati Bhat Yellapura, A.P. Pathak, and Shri Bhaskar Devadiga. He then worked as a Bhaagavata teacher at the Kendra and has been serving as a Bhaagavata teacher there. He has also learnt Yakshagana Nrutya.
Shri Anant Hegde has enacted many significant roles in Yakshagana. These include Vishnu in Dhruva Charitre, Nakula in Gadha Yudhdha, Rohitaswa in Satya Harishchandra, Dattatreya in Kartiveerya, among others.
Shri Anant Hegde has performed at many prestigious venues including SPIC MACAY Virasat festival, Hampi Utsav, and Karavali Utsav among others. He has also performed abroad in venues in Indonesia, Bali, Singapore, and other nations.
Shri Anant Hegde is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent in Yakshagana.
