Monalisa Chatterjee

Born on 9 April 1985 in Kolkata, West Bengal, Shrimati Monalisa Chatterjee belongs to a family of actors. She has an M.A. in Political Science from Calcutta University and an M.A. in Drama from Rabindra Bharati University. She also has a Diploma in classical dance (Bharatanatyam) from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, and a Diploma in Classical Music and Rabindra Sangeet from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad and Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, with distinction.
Shrimati Monalisa Chatterjee has been a member of the renowned theatre group Lokkrishti for twenty-five years and has also worked with the Rabindra Bharati University Theatre Repertory. Some of the plays she has acted in are Poyla Nombor, Fagun Rater Goppo (an adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream) Nirbashan, Tarpar Ekdin, Hing-Ting, Biley, Rom Com, It's a Game, Laboratory, Teen Nombor Chokh, Ihai Satya, System, Robir Kahani, and Gora, to name a few.
Shrimati Monalisa Chatterjee has worked with eminent directors such as Usha Ganguly, Bratya Basu, and Abanti Chakraborty. She has received several awards as an actor including the Shyamal Sen Smriti Samman by Swapnasandhani in 2009 and the Natyacharjya Shyamal Ghosh Smriti Samman 2014 for Direction of the play Chirontoni by Natyapanjika.
Shrimati Monalisa Chatterjee is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for her notable talent as an actor.
