Aloka Agnibesh



Born on 1 April 1983 in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, Shri Aloka Agnibesh is a Veterinary Graduate from the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology and an MBA in Marketing and Human Resource from International Management Institute, Belgium. Following his passion for theatre, he gained a Diploma in Acting and Direction from the S.K. School of Acting, Bhubaneshwar.
Shri Aloka Agnibesh has directed 15 plays staged in national and state theatre festivals. Some of the works he is known for are Cham Cham Ra Khela (2011), Tash Ra Desha (2011), Kanaka Upatyaka Ra Kahani (2013), January 30 (2014), and Chandraravaa (2015). His plays have been staged at the Satabdira Kalakar Festival, Bhubaneswar; State Theatre Festival, Jaipur; Tagore Festival, Paradip; and Odisha State Sangeet Natak Akademi's State Children's Theatre Festival in Jatani and Kordha, among other venues.
Shri Aloka Agnibesh has assisted many renowned directors such as Ratan Thiyam, K.N. Panikker, Usha Ganguly, Nadira Zaheer Babar, and Seema Biswas. He has also been an observer at the Gothenberg Opera in Sweden in 2009. He has received many awards in the course of his career.
Shri Aloka Agnibesh is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent as a director.
