Randhir Kumar



Born on 2 November 1976 in Patna, Bihar, Shri Randhir Kumar received theatrical training from the National School of Drama, Delhi, with a specialization in Design and Theatre Technique. During the course of his training he has also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, UK. Thereafter has been working as a Director, Designer, and Technical Consultant for various professional and amateur theatre groups.
Shri Randhir Kumar is a founder-member of the theatre group Raaga Repertory, which is a dedicated group of theatre lovers in Patna, who are working on art education and social welfare. The organization conducts a theatre festival Majma annually.
Some of the plays directed by Shri Randhir Kumar are Mahuaa, Kahaniya Tab Aur Ab, Natmethia, Jahajin, Dakghar, Putrid Prologue, Baby, Navanna, Waiting for Godot, and Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai, to name a few. Some of the plays designed by Shri Randhir Kumar are Sweet Bird of Youth, Uchakka, A Doll's House, Technicolour Dream, Bamboo Flower, Midsummer Night's Dream, A Ghost Train, and Sakuntalam. Shri Randhir Kumar has collaborated with many directors of repute including Anuradha Kapur, Anamika Haksar and Kutiyattam guru Venu Gopal on their theatrical projects.
Shri Randhir Kumar is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent as a director.
