Born on 29 May 1990 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Shrimati Prateeksha Kashi has
trained in Kuchipudi dance under her mother, Shrimati Vyjayanthi Kashi.
Shrimati Prateeksha Kashi has performed extensively at the several prestigious
dance festivals within the country and abroad including the Nritya Pratibha of
Sangeet Natak Akademi. She has also travelled to foreign shores for her
performances and lecture demonstrations in the U.S.A., Italy, U.K., Australia,
South Africa, Tanzania, Mauritius, Uganda and China. She was selected by the
Ministry of Youth Affairs as part of a delegation representing the cultural aspects
of India to celebrate the India–China Year of Friendly Relations. She has been
featured in the DVD titled The Magic of Kuchipudi, choreographed by her guru,
and also acted in films including Priyamanasam.
Shrimati Prateeksha Kashi has received many awards including the Aditya Vikram
Birla Kala Kiran Puraskar, Kalabharati Yuva Puraskar, Natyaveda Award,
Aryabhata International Award and Nritya Jyoti, among others. She is empanelled
with the ICCR and is an A Grade artist of Doordarshan, Bangalore.
Shrimati Prateeksha Kashi is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of
Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for her notable talent in the field of
Kuchipudi dance.
