Born on 31 December 1979, Sanaton Singh Rajkumar received a diploma in dance
from Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal. His six-year training in
dance with Guru H. Bonomali Singh and in theatre with Shanakhya Ibotombi,
Laimayum Ibotombi, Naba Wareppa, and Birjit Ngangomba, helped him emerge as a
Shumang Leela artist.
Performing Shumang Leela over the last 15 years, Sanaton Singh is famous for his female characters as Rosy in Mem Shaab Ki Saree, Silky in Lidiceegi Gulap, Radha in Ingagi Purnima, and Noorjahan in Taj Mahal.
He has received junior fellowship from the Department of Culture, Government of India, and also an award from the Manipur State Shumang Leela Council. He won the first Miss Manipur Nupi Shabi Contest.
