Purvadhanashree, was born on 18 October, 1979 in Delhi, started learning Bharatanatyam from her mother Kamalini Dutt, and continued to train under Radhika Shurajit, and Mamata Niyogi Nakra. She subsequently specialized in Vilasani Natyam under Swapnasundari.
Purvadhanashree was awarded a twoyear scholarship for her advanced training in Vilasini Natyam, by Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi. She obtained a P.G. Diploma in Arts and Aesthetics from Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai and a P.G. Diploma in journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan. She has given notable performances in festivals within outside the country, and has received high appreciation for her talent as a young exponent of Vilasani Natyam.
Purvadhanashree has performed in the Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival, Tirupati; Sopan of Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi; Jeevan Pani Memorial Festival, Delhi; Spirit of Youth Festival, Chennai, and Natyanjali Chidamabaram, Music Academy Festival 2000 at Chennai. She has also performed in a dance festival organized in Kuala Lumpur.
Purvadhanashree has received several honours and awards including the Dr MGR Award by Music Academy, Chennai. She continues to perform and specialize in the art under the guidance of her guru Swapnasundari.
