राहुल आचार्य

Born on 7 December, 1982 at Cuttack. Rahul Acharya started his training in Odissi dance under the tutelage of Durga Charan Ranbir. He received a scholarship from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, and later a senior scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He has also studied Yoga at the Satyanana Yoga Vidyalaya, Bihar School of Yoga, and M.Sc. in Biotechnology.
Rahul started performing in the compositions of his guru at an early age and soon made a mark for his notable talent as a young solo Odissi dancer of his generation. He has performed extensively within and outside the country at several dance festivals including Nritya Pratibha, Puri Beach, Konark Festival, Angarag Utsav, Purush Festival, Anayana Festival, Natyanjali Fest ival , Kalabharat i Decennial Celebrations, Visakhapatnam, Fete de Pondi che r r y , and Nr i t y agr am, Bangalore. He has travelled abroad for p e r f o r ma n c e s a n d l e c t u r e - demonstrations in the Reunion Islands, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Columbia, USA, Malayasia, U.K. and Germany, sponsored by Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
Rahul Acharya has also undertaken research work and has contributed articles on Odissi dance in different magazines and journals. Presently, besides performing, he is training young students and doing his research work.
