राशि बन्नी

Born on 6 June 1975 in New Delhi, Shrimati Rashi Bunny Bhatnagar inherited the basic sense of theatre from her mother Shrimati Kiron Bhatnagar – an alumnus of the National School of Drama. Later, she received training under Ebrahim Alkazi in 1994 at the Living Theatre Academy. She went on to attend specialized courses in theatre arts at the Department of Theatre, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama, USA (1996), and in theatre design at the Mason Gross School of Performing Arts, Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA in 1997.
Shrimati Rashi Bunny has directed a number of plays including Girgit (based on Anton Chekhov's The Chameleon), Dharamveer Bharti's Srishti ka Aakhiri Aadmi, etc. She associated herself with the Padatik Theatre Group, Kolkata, under Shyamanand Jalan supported by the Young Artist Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, from 1998 to 2000. At Padatik she designed and directed Nabh Taaron se Khandit Pulkit (a Hindi translation of a Harry Kondoleon play). Later, she worked with Asmita theatre group, Delhi and acted in many plays including Vijay Mishra's Tatt Niranjana. Rashi went on to found her Banjara Theatre Group first in Kharagpur, with a children’s theatre wing, and then in Mumbai. She has participated in a number of theatre festivals both within the country and abroad.
Shrimati Rashi Bunny Bhatnagar has received a number of scholarships such as Ruby Lloyd Aspey Scholarship, UAB Theatre Department, Birmingham, USA (1995); Junior Fellowship for Theatre, Department of Culture, Govt. of India (2002).
Shrimati Rashi Bunny Bhatnagar receives the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2011 for her notable talent in theatre direction.
